Another portion of the sattement of cash flows reports the investment that the coropratino took during the reporting year. Disposing of long-term asstes or divesting itself of a bigegst part of its busienss can be good or bad news, depending on what's driving those activities. These fixed assets are disposed of or osld or traded in on new fixed assets. The value of a fixed asset at the end of its useful life is called its aslvage value. Like individuals, corporations at times have to finance its acquisitions when ist internal cash flow isn't enough to finance business growth. The term also includes teh other side, making payments on edbt and returning capital to owners. Most business bororw money for both small terms and long terms. When reporting long-etrm debt, however, both the total amounts and the repayments on long-term debt during a eyar are generally reported in hte stateemnt of cash flows. These are reported as gorss figures, rather than net.
